When you're trying to feel at home in a new place, and you have a roommate who also likes to cook and bake, AND you have two roommates to help you eat your kitchen creations... well... I suppose the following is inevitable.
I love buying organic bulk food and finding over-ripe organic bananas on sale to freeze for smoothies, baking, and ice-cream!
From three different indian flavoured dishes (rice & beans, coconut curry chicken on basmati rice, and a mixed pot of indian chicken, vegetables and potatoes on basmati rice), to homemade bread, breadcrumbs, homemade pizza, naan bread from scratch, cinnamon buns, ice cream (using frozen fruit, coconut milk, and some greek yogurt), baked granola, and last night I made sunflower seed hummus using soaked raw sunflower seeds.... we have been keeping busy! Of course there have been tons of fun smoothie combinations but those are a given. ;)
The 1/3 raisins side was mine, and we put walnuts throughout. A little different from the usual healthy food we make. ;) It all started when we went to the mall together and passed a Cinnabon and the wafting smell inspired me, so we made our own!
About to enjoy another indian dish with naan &hummus (store-bought). I love family/roomie meals! It's so nice to not be eating alone all the time. I didn't realize how much I missed community living.
